Online, January 19, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Rift, the new MMO (Massively Multi-Player Online) game from Trion Worlds, will be released on March 1st, 2011. What makes this game unique from other game of the same genre is the Ascended Class System where a player chooses a base class and that class can evolve into multiple sub-classes. The base classes a player are able to chose from are clerics, rogues, mages, and warriors. Speculatio has it that the warrior would be one of the most played class.

Warriors are built to dominate the front lines of battle using melee combat. They wear heavy plate armor, wield two handed swords, or wield a one handed sword and a shield. They can protect their battle mates, or they can use their battle discipline to destroy the enemies on the battlefield. Once engaged in combat, Rift warriors will finish the war one way or the other.

The Rift Warrior can select eight souls (sub-classes). The champions are Rift Warriors that devastate their enemies while wielding two handed weapons. The reavers are warriors who cripple their enemies and damage them out over time. The paladins are the protective warriors. They use shields and defense to out last anyone one that opposes them. Paragons is capable of dual wielding and are lethal damage dealers. Riftblades are warriors that imbue their blades with magic to get pass the defenses of their enemies. Beastmasters makes use of a pet from the primal planes, together they are a team not to be messed with. Warlords are warriors who use battle auras to enhance their and their battle mates combat abilities. Void Knight uses dark magic powers to weaken their enemies.

Usually the warrior class is straight forward, but by combining any three of the souls above makes the warrior class highly dynamic class to play. As a character levels up players can have up to three different souls and switch between them. This allows many different play styles and keeps the game from going stale. As a result of the complexity, the experienced gamers and game guide publishers have made manuals and references for the class available. In the game Rift, players can choose from six possible races. There are two factions, The Guardians and the Defiant.
