Gallery In The Garden Expands with New Partnership
Online, July 9, 2010 (Newswire.com) - (WOODSTOCK, Ill.) - Gallery In The Garden, an annual event that celebrates the synthesis of art in nature, announced today its expansion into the neighboring property of the Royal Victorian Manor (http://royalvictorianmanor.com). Locals and film buffs worldwide know the house as "The Cherry Street Inn" from the 1992 comedy film Groundhog Day with Bill Murray.
The expansion allows over 20 more artists to participate and creates opportunity for more proceeds to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McHenry County (http://www.casamchenrycounty.org). The one-acre property, which has recently been restored into a bed and breakfast, will accommodate additional exhibit space for artists, a second music stage and the debut of a kids' area where children are invited to create their own art. The event is held on Saturday and Sunday, July 24 - 25. It is free and open to the public.
"There are so many wonderful attributes to this community that made us want to start a business here in Woodstock," said Everton Martin, the owner of the Royal Victorian Manor with his wife, Karla. "When we were asked to be a part of Gallery In The Garden we jumped at the chance to align ourselves with such an amazing event that is reflective of what's great about McHenry County. We are also proud that our partnership will benefit the children of CASA of McHenry County."
The list of 66 artists are set and include work from the jewelry, ceramic, stained and blown glass, photography, sculpture, watercolor, illustration and printmaking disciplines. All the work is for sale and samples can be previewed by visiting http://www.galleryinthegarden.org and clicking on the Artists page. Besides a line-up of talented musicians playing throughout the day, Jenapea's will be selling food and drinks and Jaci's Cookies will be providing cookies. A portion of proceeds from all food, drink and art sales will be going to CASA of McHenry County.
"The Royal Victorian Manor is one of the crown jewels of Woodstock and its property is an idyllic setting to annex the event," said Deb Glaubke, Co-Founder of Gallery In The Garden. "Everton and Karla have taken great care in preserving this landmark and I'm happy that Gallery In The Garden can help bring attention to their new bed and breakfast business, but also have more space to showcase the best artists among us."
Gallery In The Garden is held at 600 Lawndale Ave., Woodstock, Illinois, 60098 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM on July 24 and 25.
Both Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of McHenry County and Gallery In the Garden are 501(c)(3) Non-For-Profit organizations.
