Online, January 24, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is pleased to announce that Trial Attorneys Rhonda Reed Weiner and Audrey Momanaee have been elected to membership in the prestigious Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation based on their exceptional professional achievements and their dedication to the justice system throughout the state of Texas.
"We are very proud that Rhonda and Audrey have been selected as Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation," says Geoffrey H. Bracken, who heads the Firm's Houston Trial Group. "In addition to being excellent attorneys and assets to our Trial team, they exhibit uncompromising ethics in dealing with both judges and opposing counsel, and a commitment to the Texas justice system."
Both women have numerous professional accomplishments. Ms. Weiner, a partner in the Firm's Houston office, focuses her practice on civil litigation with a concentration on complex commercial litigation, including oil and gas, maritime, energy, products liability and contractual disputes. She is a 2005 cum laude graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and previously worked as a senior laboratory technician conducting genetics research. She is consistently recognized among the state's top young attorneys by Thomson Reuters in the annual Texas Rising Stars list published in Texas Monthly based on her work in business litigation as well as energy and natural resources matters.
Ms. Momanaee is an associate in Gardere's Houston office. A 2006 graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, she focuses her practice on commercial, oil and gas, insurance coverage, personal injury and ownership, shareholder, partnership, and management disputes. She also has been recognized by Texas Rising Stars for her work in business litigation.
Selection as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation has grown from an initial 254 Charter Fellows in 1965 to more than 7,500 current Fellows throughout Texas.
"Election as a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow is one of the highest honors that a member of the State Bar of Texas can receive," says Gardere Vice Chair Eric A. Blumrosen. "Rhonda and Audrey are extremely dedicated to the legal profession and to the cause of justice in our state. They are both worthy recipients, and we are honored and proud of them for earning this recognition."
The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the country. Founded in 1965 by lawyers determined to assist the public and improve the profession of law, the Texas Bar Foundation has, to date, distributed more than $15 million throughout Texas to assist nonprofit organizations with a wide range of justice-related programs and services.
