Gary Lang Auto Group's "Cell Phones for Soldiers" Program
Gary Lang Auto Group has joined the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. This program provides a 60-minute calling card to a soldier for each cell phone donated.
Online, August 5, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Gary Lang Auto Group is now a drop off point for the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. This program is designed to provide our soldiers overseas with an opportunity to phone home and talk to loved ones from far away. Everyone has felt the emotional need to hear a loved one's voice while away. Soldiers are always welcome to call home, but the calls are expensive for families. The Cell Phones for Soldiers program provides a means for soldiers to contact their friends and families for free. For every cell phone donated to the program, a soldier will receive a 60-minute calling card.
Gary Lang VP/GM, Dixie Gilmore, said she "thinks all soldiers would love to be part of a program like this." She has heard from her employees and customers that soldiers usually get to make a phone call once every few months, which they have to pay for. She wholeheartedly agreed that "a phone call home is both priceless and uplifting. There is little military families want more than hard evidence you are still okay."
Gary Lang Auto Group has several veterans in its employment and understands how important contact with families is while on active duty overseas. They hope to help as many soldiers as possible and will have a collection box set up in the dealership. Everyone is encouraged to bring their unwanted cell phones in and drop them off.
Gary Lang Auto Group is on Highway 31, between Crystal Lake and McHenry and has been serving McHenry County for over 27 years. The dealership group carries several makes, including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Kia, Mitsubishi and Subaru. Website: http://www.GaryLangAuto.com.
