Gateway Gallery Auction Holds Free Verbal Appraisal Day
Online, February 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - - Gateway Gallery Auction is offering free appraisal days to be held the third Wednesday of each month at the Auctions gallery facility, located at 643 Kriner Road, Chambersburg. Appraisers will be available to review coins, currency, toys, trains, sports collectibles, militaria, firearms, fine & decorative arts, as well as general antiques and collectibles. There is a limit of 3 items per person.
On hand will be John F. Kohler, Jr. owner & head auctioneer of Gateway Gallery Auction, an expert in downsizing and estate liquidations with over 40 years' hands-on experience selling antiques and collectibles; along with certified personal property appraiser Micah D. Fowler, who specializes in coins, currency, toys, trains, sports collectibles and militaria.
Since receiving his license in 1969, auctioneer Kohler has seen antiques of every imaginable type. "One of the most memorable pieces I've handled was a Tiffany Favrile lamp, it was absolutely gorgeous, a rich sea blue green with a lovely dragonfly base. It was such a striking lamp. I don't think I'll ever forget it" says Kohler.
Fowler has a special passion for coins and model trains; but is always eager to explore the world of antiques and collecting.
Gateway's first free verbal appraisal day will take place on March 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Subsequent appraisal days will be on the third Wednesday of each month. If you are unable to attend the appraisal event, contact Gateway to schedule an appointment 717-263-6512. Items too large? Email or bring photographs. Individuals interested in a formal valuation or an appraisal for Insurance or Estate purposes may contact Fowler at 717-263-8706.
