GBMP Announces Line-Up of Shingo Institute Workshops for Business Improvement Professionals

The difference between successful and unsuccessful Lean implementations is the ability of an organization to ingrain timeless principles into its culture rather than rely on a superficial implementation of tools. Shingo Institute workshops provide best-in-class education designed to align and accelerate your organization's cultural transformation.

GBMP, a licensed affiliate of The Shingo Institute, is accepting registrations for eight Shingo Institute workshops. With two chances to attend each of the four workshops, GBMP is proud to be able to help hundreds of lean practitioners gain access to all of the important workshops in the series. For the first time ever lean practitioners can complete the entire suite of Shingo Institute workshops in just four to six months.

The Shingo Institute is named after Japanese industrial engineer Shigeo Shingo, one of the world's thought leaders in management and improvement, whose techniques have become known as the Toyota Production System (TPS). Leaders around the world have invested a substantial amount of time and money on TPS initiatives. At the foundation of these initiatives are a number of tools that seem to promise exciting results, and some may even achieve positive results initially and in the short term, but almost all of these initiatives meet disappointing, if not unsatisfactory, ends. Leaders quickly find that lean tools such as SMED, 5S, JIT, etc., are not independently capable of effecting lasting change. The Shingo Modelâ„¢ is a new way of thinking - introducing Guiding Principles on which to anchor improvement initiatives in your efforts towards ideal results and enterprise excellence. The Shingo Modelâ„¢ principles apply to business leaders from any industry who are using Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Just-in-Time, Quality Circles, or other improvement programs to achieve operational excellence.

The four cutting-edge workshops are Discover Excellence (a prerequisite for the other three workshops), Enterprise Alignment, Continuous Improvement and Cultural Enablers. All of the workshops feature two interactive days at a host site, multiple visits to the gemba and the opportunity to share experiences with like-minded professionals committed to achieving business excellence.
