Gear Up for the Biggest Women's International Film Festival in India

The stage of Mumbai Women's International Film Festival is all set to spread the spotlight on the film-maker within a Woman. We believe in the power of Womanhood because in the end, Women Weave Wonders!

The Mumbai Women's International Film Festival (MWIFF) is a fast growing film festival, to be held in Mumbai from 9th - 13th October 2013 organised by Oculus Creations and supported by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation-under Govt. of Maharashtra. MWIFF is gradually establishing itself in the landscape of world film festivals not only in India but the world over.

The purpose of this film festival is to provide an international platform to the unknown, the unheard, and the hidden talent of film-making in a woman. MWIFF is not to portray women in front of the camera, but to showcase her talent behind the camera and give her the spotlight she always deserved! MWIFF also promotes friendship and co-operation among people of the world through the medium of films & documentaries and thus have a wide diverse cultural exchange.

Though film festivals have become a regular affair in most countries and entertain the commercially successful film makers and related personalities, MWIFF intends to organize a festival which is for upcoming independent female filmmakers and technicians that connects the film fans & movies goers with the film world, especially the serious filmmaker & their associates so as to bring about greater understanding of the art of film making.

Filmmakers have a wide range of categories to choose from, which describes their talent as an auteur the best. The competitive category includes Short Films, Documentary Films, "Her Film" (PSA- Social Cause of Women) and Feature Films; the non- competitive category includes World Cinebusters, World Panorama and World Premiere.

The event, which claims to have something for those behind the camera and those in front of it, will see 5 days of film screenings, closing night networking parties, industry panels, post-screening discussions, media and industry attention, celebrities, an award ceremony and a pink carpet.
