Geebo Adds "Lookers" To Online Classifieds For Onsite Item Inspection And Buyer Safety

Online, April 26, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Geebo, a national online classifieds ads site known for providing a safe marketplace for both buyer and seller, has partnered with WeGoLook.com, a service provider that makes pre-transaction physical inspections of items for online buyers and sellers, the companies announced today.

The non-exclusive partnership will highlight WeGoLook's services in Geebo ads, providing prospective buyers with the opportunity to have the item inspected before finalizing the deal. And while the service is ideal for buyers and sellers of big ticket items, such as cars, boats, jewelry and antiques, it can be used for other items that might be bought and sold over the Internet.

Geebo founder and CEO Greg Collier said the partnership brings another layer of safety and security to Geebo's online classifieds ads, reducing the chances of a buyer being scammed or otherwise victimized by dealing with a stranger at the other end of an online transaction. Likewise, it provides the seller the opportunity to showcase his item as being inspected.

"There's a certain amount of trust that goes into conducting an online transaction with a stranger but, as we've seen in too many unfortunate incidents, the person on the other end isn't always the most trustworthy," Collier wrote in a blog post announcing the partnership. WeGoLook is a provider of on-site inspections, conducted by a fleet of "lookers," who visit the sellers, inspect the property they're selling and submit a report with photos, observations and other factors that could impact a buyer's final purchasing decision. The services, which begin at $49, are customizable and can be applied to any type of item - from hard-to-find electronics to a used car. The company's "lookers," all of whom are background check verified, are based in regions across the country and can be dispatched to any location in a timely manner, said company co-founder Robin Smith.

Previously, customers purchasing big-ticket items such as cars or boats would have to absorb the expense of traveling to the item's location for their own peace of mind, an expense that was a potential waste if the didn't meet the buyer's expectations.
