GEM Capital Limited Follows Samsung as They Replace Mobile Chief and Promote the Chairman's Daughter.

GEM Capital Limited Closely Follows Samsung's Replacement Koh Dong-Jin.

In recent reports Samsung has replaced the head of its mobile business and promoted the chairman’s daughter as the South Korean colossal seeks to reaffirm its smartphone dominance amidst a generational power transfer in the founding Lee family.

In an annual personnel reshuffle, Samsung named Koh Dong-Jin, executive vice head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile research and development, as the new head of mobile business.

Koh led the improvement of Samsung's latest leading devices including the Galaxy S6 smartphone and Galaxy Note 5 tablet.

"It is expected that Koh will be able to achieve another breakthrough in the mobile business by using his deep insight in a wide range of businesses including... mobile solution and service development," the company said.

The Recent reshuffle also saw Lee Seo-Hyun, a daughter of Samsung Group chairman Lee Kun-Hee, promoted to the head of fashion business at Samsung C&T the group's fashion and construction unit.

Samsung’s mobile unit saw a 40 percent on year increase in third quarter operating profit, but price cuts to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones -- and enlarged shipments of mid-to-low end smartphones -- meant the unit’s net profit in fact declined compared to the second quarter.

This is set to be a very exciting year for Samsung as the battle for first place of the technological giants continues between Apple and Samsung stated Technology Analyst for GEM Capital Limited Wendy Hong.
