ROGERS, Ark., December 13, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Generations Bank, an Arkansas community bank with nine locations throughout the state, offered special CD rates explicitly on Dec. 6.
The offerings included a 10-month CD special with a 1.10 percent annual percentage yield (APY) and a 13-month CD special with a 1.30 percent APY. APY rates assume interest remain on deposits until maturity. There was a 1000 dollar, new funds minimum to open an account and early withdrawal penalties do apply.
A CD, or certificate of deposit, is a type of savings account, generally with higher rates of returns than basic savings accounts but are less accessible due to early withdrawal fees. CDs are an optimal option for safe, long-term saving.
