Georgia Chapter Of Meeting Professionals International Recognizes Top Meeting Planners And Suppliers In Georgia At Annual Phoenix Awards

Georgia Meeting Professionals celebrate their own, as meeting industry rebounds. Annual award gala recognizes top performers in a number of categories.

Atlanta, Georgia, June 18, 2010 - Georgia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (GaMPI) will recognize Georgia's top meeting professionals at it's trend-setting annual award event, The Phoenix Awards. The Phoenix Awards will be held at one of Atlanta's newest venues, the Loews Hotel Atlanta, on June 30. Attendance of over 400 local and regional event industry professionals is expected.

" 'All That Glitters' is more than just a theme for this event," explains co-chairs Lance Hornecker, CMP, CMM & Susan Rimmer, CMP., "It is an acknowledgement that live meetings and events have value because of the experiences they provide attendees and as an opportunity to people to come together for face to face interaction. It is a chance to inspire and celebrate the incredible creativity and enormous effort our peers have poured into their efforts this year."

"This award program is unique because the award-winners are selected by their peers, not by a panel or by the Board. This is more than just a popularity contest. It is the best of the best that GaMPI has to offer," adds Kate Lastinger, CMP, CMM GaMPI President for 2009-2010.

Award categories include Planner of the Year, Supplier of the Year, Venue of the Year, Project of the Year, as well as recognition for involvement in the efforts of Georgia Chapter of Meeting Professionals International to support the development and education of meeting professionals in the Georgia area.
