Georgia King Thanks Her Funders with IMDb Credit

Actor and director launches Kickstarter campaign in support of her latest film

Actor/ Director Georgia King has launched a Kickstarter campaign for her second short film called Your Hands. After directing her first short film, I Think, Therefore, King is joining the rising tide of independent artists funding their projects online.

Everyone who donates five dollars or more will receive credit for the film on IMDb. Even though this creates the potential for an almost comically large IMDb listing for a short film, King views her choice as part of creating independent film. "I love independent cinema because the possibilities are endless," she says. "The power of storytelling is immense, and I want the independent film community to be a part of this film, and part of our success."

King is most recognizable as Goldie Clemmons in last year's The New Normal on NBC, and as Lady Amelia Heartwright in Austenland, released by Sony Pictures Classics. Her other notable films include Wild Child and Tanner Hall. She also performed in One Night in November at the Belgrade Theater in Coventry, from October to November 2010, as well as being featured in the 2011 film Chalet Girl.

About Your Hands
Your Hands is a dramedy surrounding the end of a relationship between Lily and Jack, and will be shot in late September. Georgia King, Nicholas Braun and Michael Hitchcock are among the confirmed cast. The film takes place on a subway car and will feature a bold color palette meant to represent Lily's unfolding understanding of loss and acceptance.
