Georgia Orthodontist Makes 20 Year Promise To Serve His Community
Dr. Bush is making the commitment to serve 50 deserving children around his 11 office locations throughout Georgia each year for the next 20 years. By the year 2031, this will resonate into treatment for more than 1,000 deserving children.
Online, May 26, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Hector Bush, owner of Orthodontic Care of Georgia, pledges to expand his existing pro-bono program, Andrew J. Young, Sr. Share a Smile, into several areas of the state far into the future. Dr. Bush is making the commitment to serve 50 deserving children around his 11 office locations each year for the next 20 years. By the year 2031, this will resonate into treatment for more than 1,000 deserving children throughout metro Atlanta, Athens, Carrollton, LaGrange, Macon and Columbus. This pledge is worth approximately $5 million dollars in orthodontic treatment.
"Since opening the practice in 1994, a large part of our mission has been to help deserving and needy children in our area," said Dr. Bush. "This is an extension of my belief in giving back to our communities through our gifts and abilities."
Giving back to the community has always been a part of Dr. Bush's philosophy, who has donated orthodontic care to troubled and neglected children through the Methodist Home in Macon and the Beatrice Carey Steel Pitts Orphanage in Atlanta. For the past 12 years, Dr. Bush developed the Andrew J. Young, Sr. Share a Smile program, providing free braces to deserving children throughout the Atlanta Metro area through various organizations, including the Ryan Cameron Foundation. Dr. Bush's efforts have been supported fully by his dedicated staff and associates, including Dr. Sylvester Carlo, Dr. David Lofters, Dr. Leroy Venn and Dr. Marc Wright. Each member has provided their skill in orthodontic care to the Share a Smile program, giving children a caring and comfortable environment for treatment.
Recently, Dr. Bush combined forces with Dr. Walter F. Young and Ambassador Andrew J. Young, Jr. to further extend his community service efforts by providing free orthodontic care to more than 50 children involved in the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA. In honor of Dr. Bush's efforts, he was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
