Georgia Podiatrists Support 2013 2-Day Walk in Atlanta for Breast Cancer Awareness
Online, October 27, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The battle against cancer is far from over. The American Cancer Society predicts that in the United States alone, over 39,620 women will die from the dreaded disease in 2013. In an effort to reduce the gloomy statistics, the call for awareness among women, and even men, all over the world has intensified.
October 5 and 6, 2013 marked another 2 days of tireless efforts to advocate breast cancer awareness in Atlanta, Georgia, as initiated by "It's The Journey", an organization founded in 2002 with an aim to strengthen the city's breast cancer community. Through the Annual 2-Day Walk, the organization raises funds for local Atlanta organizations that focus on breast cancer education, early detection, awareness and support services, as well as the unmet needs in the breast cancer community.
Over the past few years, it has become tradition for Ankle & Foot Centers of Georgia to do its share in the noble undertaking that the Atlanta Breast Cancer Walk is all about. During this year's momentous weekend for cancer sufferers and survivors all over Atlanta, physicians and staff treated participants at the B'rest Stops located along the route.

"We are thankful to have the continued support of the Ankle & Foot Centers of Georgia", says Kim Goff, Executive Director of 'It's the Journey'. She goes on to say, "Every year this group shows up in full force to treat our walkers, and we look forward to many more years with them."
