Georgia Towing Company Wins Grand Prize Award
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla., November 11, 2020 (Newswire.com) - A Georgia towing and recovery company earned Grand Prize in the national Shine 'n Star tow truck photo contest hosted by Tow Times magazine and powered by Ford Trucks.
More than 500 companies submitted photos of their tow-truck beauties for consideration in the annual photo contest, now celebrating its 29th year.
St. Mary's Towing & Recovery of St. Marys, Ga., headed the pack of 17 companies from around the United States and Canada whose tow trucks were judged the best-looking and most winning.
"A lot of work went into the truck," says owner Justin McDonald of St. Mary's Towing about the 2008 light-duty Chevrolet 3500 with a Century self-loader that doesn't show its age.
The tow truck boasts a visually commanding wrap of blue flames, a Road Armor bumper with a Smittybilt winch and PIAA lights, custom Peterbilt Alcoa wheels that were custom cut to fit this truck, and an AMG mesh grille.
In addition, the Shine 'n Star awarded its People's Choice award, which is decided by popular vote, to Brown's Towing of Oshawa, Ontario, Can., whose white, black and red Freightliner tow truck with a 22-foot carrier bed proved to be a favorite.
The Grand Prize winner gets $1,000 cash prize and a cover on Tow Times magazine. Five first-place winners receive $500 each and a future Tow Times cover. Second place winners earn $300 each, while third place receive $200 each.
