Event to Benefit Victims of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence

Wellington, FLA - Professional equestrian and philanthropist, Georgina Bloomberg, was selected to serve as honorary event chairwoman for the inaugural Jump for Home Safe, an entertaining event of world-class equestrian competition and unique interactive fun for attendees of all ages. The event is set for Saturday, February 5 as part of the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington.

Actively involved in charitable work, Bloomberg is lending her strong support to help raise funds and awareness for Home Safe - a non-profit organization helping victims of child abuse and domestic violence. Home Safe serves over 14,000 infants, children and adults annually in Palm Beach County and surrounding areas.

Jump for Home Safe is a family-friendly evening consisting of:

• VIP seating for jumping equestrian competition, with Georgina Bloomberg as one of the competitors. The 'Battle of the Sexes' traditionally attracts more than 5,000 people.

• horseless jump contests with awards (for attendees of all ages).

• a delectable dinner under the stars

• an extensive array of 'must-have' live and silent auction items

In existence since 1979, Home Safe is a nationally-accredited non-profit organization helping improve the lives of victims of child abuse and domestic violence, with a growing emphasis on prevention. Each year, Home Safe serves over 14,000 infants, children and women in south Florida and surrounding areas. Home Safe offers four main programs, including: Specialized Therapeutic and Enhanced Group Homes; Safety Net anti-Domestic Violence program: Healthy Beginnings program supported by Children's Services Council; and the Foster Family Licensing and Support unit. About Georgina Bloomberg
An accomplished professional equestrian, Georgina Bloomberg (born January 20th, 1983) operates her business of buying, training and selling horses out of her family's farm Gotham North in North Salem, NY and Wellington, FL. After graduating from Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University in January 2010, Georgina now continues to pursue her dreams of representing her country in the Olympic games. She is a board member of the Equestrian Aid Foundation, an Animal Welfare Ambassador for the ASPCA, a member of Friends of Finn of the Humane Society, a board member of the Bloomberg Family Foundation and the Bloomberg Sisters Foundation. In 2006 she started the charity The Rider's Closet that collects and redistributes clothing and equipment to Intercollegiate Riding teams, therapeutic riding programs, and riders who cannot afford what they need. Georgina has sponsorship deals with Audi, Ariat, Pennfield Feeds, Heritage Gloves, Lettia and County Saddles. Currently, she is writing a series of young adult novels based on true stories from the equestrian circuit. The first entitled "The A Circuit" (Bloomsbury) will be available on May 24, 2011. Georgina Bloomberg is the younger daughter of New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
