German Imaging Technologies Joins United Nations Global Compact

German Imaging Technologies (GIT) joins the United Nations Global Compact program and reaches a new milestone of 100 employees amid continued growth and expansion.

German Imaging Technologies (GIT), the leading manufacturer and supplier of OEM-alternative document printing solutions in the UAE, joined the United Nations Global Compact program, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative and a network of companies committed to align their strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, taking actions that advance societal goals.

“Joining this program is a natural extension of GIT’s purpose of creating jobs and equal opportunity for all, regardless of gender, ethnicity and beliefs. In the Middle East and Africa, GIT created 25 new jobs in 2016 to reach 100 employees this month, a new growth milestone which further demonstrates our commitment to the region. Furthermore, women represent 35% of GIT’s employee base of which 50% are in leadership positions at market standard pay. GIT already aligns itself with the best international standards”, Dr. Sassan Dieter Khatib-Shahidi, founder and Chief Executive Officer said.

Joining UNGC program also reinforces GIT’s commitment for an environmentally sustainable future for generations to come. GIT has contributed to saving 3 million kilograms of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere since its inception, and aims to reach savings up to 10 million kilograms before 2020.
