Get Presidential at the National Automobile Museum

Presidential cars of the past on display at the National Automobile Museum

1962 Lincoln Continental convertible

With early voting underway, celebrate the United States’ presidents of the past at the National Automobile Museum. Visitors can take a step back in history with a collection of diplomatic favorites including the 1962 “John F. Kennedy” Lincoln Continental convertible assigned to the late President John F. Kennedy for his use in Florida.

“In the new age of electric cars, we wonder if the next president will step into another historic vehicle boom just like President William Taft did in 1909,” said Jackie Frady, Museum president, and executive director. “Perhaps Tesla will make the trending car of the next term, much like the 1912 Baker Electric V Special Extension Coupe was during Taft’s time in office.”

Onlookers can discover these and so many other history-making vehicles as they stroll through our displays. We encourage visitors to take some time, ponder how they'll vote and get presidential at the National Automobile Museum

The Baker Electric was included in the first fleet of White House cars purchased by the government.  The museum displays the 1912 Baker Electric once owned by the famous Andy Griffith. It also features many makes of automobiles there were popularized by presidents including those made by Cadillac, Lincoln, Packard, Pierce-Arrow, Stanley Steamer and White.

“Onlookers can discover these and so many other history-making vehicles as they stroll through our displays. We encourage visitors to take some time, ponder how they’ll vote and get presidential at the National Automobile Museum,” said Frady.
