Gifting Hands: Changing Lives
Dallas, Texas, February 21, 2017 (Newswire.com) - His name is Prince. He's four years old, and has a partially deformed hand and leg. However, with the help of the Gift A Hand Foundation, he can now ride a bike, play cricket, and live a normal life.
The Gift A Hand Foundation is a nonprofit founded by Rishi Talati, a 17 year old student from Coppell, Texas in the United States. In partnership with the Prosthetic Kids Hand Challenge and E-NABLE, the Gift A Hand Foundation 3D print prosthetic hands for individuals in India, and has given dozens of individuals free, life changing prosthetic hands. Using this technology, there is an opportunity to reach approximately 2.4 million hand-amputees in developing countries, providing a free prosthetic hand and a chance at an improved life.
"I am greatly impressed by the difference Rishi has been able to make in the lives of the amputees he has worked with," - Dr. Veerendra Shandilya, President of the Amputee Association of India.
Rishi has a goal for the Gift A Hand Foundation to help 500 individuals by the end of this year. However, the foundation is running short on money and patients. If you know anyone who needs a prosthetic hand, or if you are interested in helping out via donations or volunteering, please visit the website for more information and/or give Rishi a call.
