GIVELIFE - Department of Outreach Scholarship Distribution for Higher Education

Online, August 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - GIVELIFE is a small but firm step towards ensuring holistic educational support to thousands of deserving children, providing fees, uniforms, books, nutritional porridge breakfast and general career guidance. It ensures children attain the basic standards of physical, intellectual, socio economic and moral well being.

GiveLife strives to arrest child labour, trafficking in children, and institutionalization of poverty and disintegration of families. The project implementation is in the true spirit of partnership between the children, families, local school, community, and like-minded public.

GiveLife has extended educational sponsorship support to 8000 school children for the current academic year, so as to save them from conditions of poverty, lack of quality education and general deprivation.

GiveLife along with Department of Outreach, Loyola College has been sponsoring students for their Higher Education. So far around 800 students have received scholarship to pursue Medicine, Engineering, Arts, Science and Diploma courses. This year 274 students are receiving their scholarship for professional, arts and science courses.

The scholarship recipients were selected after conducting a survey in the slums of Chennai. A home visit was conducted to authenticate the family circumstance of the student by Department of Outreach.

This initiative of GiveLife has greatly supported the students to continue their Higher Education. This GiveLife imitative is not a one time scholarship; the students will be provided scholarship every year until they complete their course.
