GlamSticks At London Fashion Shows

GlamSticks have great success at London disabled fashion shows attended by Soap stars

GlamSticks has had a very successful long weekend taking part in London fashion shows! First up on Friday 22 October was the HAFAD (Hammersmith & Fulham Action on Disability) "Fashion with Passion" show at Hammersmith & West Fulham College. GlamSticks were featured at various times during this lively, funky show with the actress Kelly-Marie Stewart (who plays Hayley Ramsey in Hollyoaks) on the catwalk for GlamSticks, after travelling from Liverpool especially to model the latest designs. Also present at the show were David Proud (Adam Best in Eastenders) and TV presenter Lara Masters.

Next up for GlamSticks was an evening at the fabulous "Disabled and Sexy Fashion Show", in Notting Hill, London on Monday 25 October 2010. The event was organised by volunteers in support of the Jennifer Trust, to help those suffering from the Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) condition, to show that the disabled are just as glamorous, just as fashionable, and just as sexy as anyone else. GlamSticks were included in two of the catwalk collections on show, firstly a "Punk" stick from the men's collection and then the very feminine and fabulous Swarovski-crystal encrusted "SparkleStick" modelled during the lingerie section. The GlamSticks complemented the clothes brilliantly and were very well received by the audience.

GlamSticks also took part in the auction afterwards, to raise funds for the Jennifer Trust, with the broadcaster Jon Snow as Master of Ceremonies. GlamSticks offered two of the Swarovski GlamSticks which had previously been used by Kelly-Marie Stewart when she walked down the red carpet at the Soap Awards 2010 in central London. The bidding was quick and the final price was a wonderful £250.

Debbie Deboo, the creator of GlamSticks, caught up with David Proud (who had been on the catwalk earlier) and gave him a pair of the "punk" sticks as a thank you for his support of the Jennifer Trust. Debbie received a lot of interest in the GlamSticks that she had with her as well, a sparkling and dramatic design of multi-coloured rhinestones threaded along the length of the stick, with many people saying they were "simply amazing". Jon Snow described them as "the best accessory on show".
