Glassblowing Studio Launches Kickstarter to Rebuild after Roof Collapse
Pensacola, FL, April 13, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Husband and wife team Scott and Molli Novota of Strong Street Studio launched a kickstarter campaign to replace equipment, tools and materials lost in a roof collapse.
After 8 years of operating the studio in their back yard the couple decided to move the studio downtown to be more accessible to the public. During this transition the roof of the storage building collapsed during heavy rains. Most of Strong Street Studio's equipment and materials were buried under rubble and exposed to the elements making it unusable.
"Maybe big setbacks set the stage for big comebacks." Help restore our hand-blown glass studio after natural disaster struck.
Scott Novota, Owner
"We wanted to make sure our incentives were special and unique to this event. One of the things we were able to salvage from the collapse was a glass color called ‘Blood Orange’. This color is a one-off color, meaning it will never be made again", says Novota. "While our goal of $20,000 won't come close to covering our losses it will get it back up and running with the minimums."
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can choose from a variety of rewards including hand blown pint glasses, shot glasses, pumpkins and private studio experiences. These limited edition rewards will be exclusive to this kickstarter campaign.
