In the latest episode of GluckRadio -- a podcast that interviews controversial and interesting figures in media, psychology, and culture -- host Dr. Errol Gluck interviewed Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez. Dr. Gonzalez, a New York City based alternative cancer doctor, has created the controversial cancer treatment method called "The Gonzalez Regimen," which treats cancer with enzyme therapy, nutritional planning, and detoxifying coffee enemas. Dr. Gluck asked Dr. Gonzalez about his controversial history, his past lawsuits, and the more bizarre components of his treatment. Dr. Gluck asked Dr. Gonzalez why his treatment is not more popular if it indeed works and is not just quackery. According to the podcast interview, Dr. Gonzalez believes that there is a heavy bias against alternative medicine, pointing out the hypocrisy that failed traditional doctors get appreciated while failed alternative doctors get publicly reprimanded. GluckRadio host Dr. Gluck examined with his guest why that societal double standard exists. Podcast Host, Clinical Hypnotist and Executive Life Coach, Dr. Gluck, then asked Dr. Gonzalez, his controversial guest, to explain the two major studies that were conducted on the Gonzalez Regimen. Dr. Gonzalez answered that the first study done yielded results proving the Gonzalez Regimen worked more effectively in prolonging the lives of cancer sufferers than traditional chemotherapy. The second study, however, revealed that in fact chemotherapy was more efficient in prolonging the length and quality of life for cancer sufferers. Dr. Errol Gluck asked, "Who funded each study?" Gonzalez replied that the first study was funded by Nestle, and the second one was funded by a Cancer Organization that sponsors traditional studies. Dr. Gluck and Dr. Gonzalez talked about the conflict of interest.
