Godzilla To Strike Again

Online, August 17, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Portland, Oregon - tanQ, a local group dedicated to supporting needy causes and positive change around the world, will be celebrating its first anniversary with a First Year Charity Party Friday, September 9, 2001 at The Slate in Northwest Portland.

The theme of the party is "Godzilla Strikes Again," a reference to a special second edition t-shirt scheduled to be launched at the event. The shirt, which is being printed in a limited quantity of 75, will be available for purchase for $28, with all net proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross and tsunami relief efforts for the nation of Japan. A limited number of 25 Godzilla poster prints will also be available for sale.

Raffle tickets will also be sold, with a host of great prizes up for grabs. Admission to the charity event is free, but guests are asked to make a donation to the American Red Cross. The charity party starts at 6:00 PM, with festivities to run till 10:00 PM.

"We are super excited to be celebrating our first year," said Judy Tan, founder of tanQ. "We have been privileged to work with some great non-profit organizations this year, and our party is also a special 'tanQ' to them. With the support of our many fans and friends, we anticipate even better and bigger things our second year!"

NW Scion who is co-hosting the event, is donating space for the party at The Slate. The Slate is a cultural incubator offering a free flex-space for the Portland community to host special events. The flexible 2200 square foot venue offers different configurations to suit many needs.

Located in the NW Industrial district of downtown Portland, the Slate is located at NW 19th Ave at Vaughn. The venue includes gallery wall space, a customizable chalkboard wall, flat screen TVs, video games, audio system with DJ hookups and much more.

Music for the evening is being donated by Ritmo Latino Dance Company and DJ Ernesto.
