- Power: A water heater can be powered by gas, propane, electricity or solar power: Godzilla is powered by nuclear radiation;
- Inventor: The water heater was invented by an American - Edwin Ruud: Godzilla was created by a Japanese film production company - Toho Co Ltd.;
- Durability: Godzilla is much more durable than any water heater. Water heaters can be destroyed by rust; Godzilla, having survived a nuclear attack, can't be destroyed by anything short of a nuclear attack;
- Names: The water heater is known by other names, including hot water heaters, hot water tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, geysers, or calorifiers: the name "Godzilla" is a mix of the Japanese words gorira ("gorilla") and kujira ("whale"). Godzilla is also known as "Gojira" or "Gozira";
- Building Code: Installing a water heater must comply with local city building codes: Godzilla doesn't comply with any building codes and does whatever he wants - he even eats buildings;
- Demographic: Water heaters are generally purchased by adults: tickets to Godzilla movies are generally purchased by kids;
- Safety: If a water heater is incorrectly handled, it can blow up and kill someone: if Godzilla is incorrectly treated, he can blow up and kill anyone at any time;
