GoMage LightCheckout: One Step Checkout for Magento
LightCheckout extension was designed to make the checkout process simpler and more user-friendly. Standard Magento checkout makes customers go through several steps to fill in all their personal, billing and shipping information to complete the order.
Warsaw, Poland, July 9, 2015 (Newswire.com) - LightCheckout extension was designed to make the checkout process simpler and more user-friendly. Standard Magento checkout makes customers go through several steps to fill in all their personal, billing and shipping information to complete the order. GoMage LightCheckout combines all of those steps into one. The blocks in which a customer can enter their personal and billing information, choose payment and shipping options, add gift wrapping or change the quantity of product items are all presented on one page.
The block ‘Billing address’ contains the fields for customer’s name, email address, geographical location, phone number and other contact data which the store owner needs customers to fill in. The extension supports GeoIP functionality that can be enabled in the billing address block; when it is enabled the system recognizes customer’s IP address and fills in the address data automatically. The option for VAT number validation can be enabled in this block through the backend extension settings. The EU VAT numbers are validated through the VIES system and allow customers exclude VAT from their total cost. Using the backend settings, the store administrator can set the necessary checkout fields as mandatory or optional, remove some fields at all, enable automatic registration, make registration mandatory or allow guest users to make orders. Another interesting feature offered by the extension is that the shopping cart can be disabled and then a customer will be taken straight to the checkout page when they add a product to the cart.
The option ‘Ship to this address’ sets the shipping address the same as the billing address, thus allowing customers avoid filling in all address details again. If this option is unchecked, the ‘Shipping address’ block opens and customer needs to enter all corresponding details there.
In the ‘Shipping method’ block available shipping methods are displayed. Of course, they should first be enabled on the backend both in Magento settings and LightCheckout settings. The block ‘Time of delivery’, if enabled through the backend, makes it possible for customers to select the best day and time to receive their package within the time frame set by the store owner.
The block ‘Payment method’ shows the payment methods configured on the backend. The necessary methods should be enabled both in Magento and extension settings. The customer can choose a desirable payment system. PayPal and many other popular payment systems are supported.
The ‘Order review’ block shows the summary about the product being ordered. Customers can make sure that they have selected a correct item, change the quantity if necessary, add a gift wrapping, gift messages, enter a discount code or write comments to the order.
The LightCheckout extension supports responsive themes and is fully mobile compatible. The store owner needs to select the types of mobile devices and OS on which they wish the extension to work. There is also an option to disable the extension on mobile devices then it will be replaced with the standard checkout for customers who make orders through mobile devices.
The view and layout of each extension block can be adjusted on the back end. The background color, skin, fonts and sizes can be modified to match the general web store design. Besides, the extension has open source code and can be easily customized. GoMage also offers their service for customization of the extension for additional charge.
