Former NYPD sergeant and 2x World's Best Pizza title holder and founder of Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizz'a chain has wrtiiten a book about his experiences in the NYPD and growing up in Brooklyn NY. Gritty and insightful no punches pulled.
Online, March 18, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Local "Goodfella" has written a book about his exploits as a NYC Police Officer.
Marc Cosentino co-founder of Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza on Hylan Blvd. Staten island NY( 2x World's Best Pizza ) and 3rd Ave Brooklyn NY has gone back to his roots as a patrolman in the 120 Pct. Staten Island and sergeant in the 67 Pct. Brooklyn to write a book about his experiences on patrol.
The story takes place during the crack epidemic of the 1980's before political correctness was part of our vocabulary and police officers did not yet have their hands tied behind their backs by it.
This book puts you in the radio car on patrol and gives first hand experience of what it is like to do a job that nothing can prepare you for and which he considers " both an honor and privilege to have been part of." According to Marc " I tried to give an insight of what it was like for these young officers to deal with circumstances and situations that are by no means "Routine" and still entertain and demonstrate from the main characters viewpoint, through his laughter and tears, what it's like to be part of the thin blue line."
Of course the names have been changed to....and it is interesting to note that the "bad guys" are not always who they appear to be. ROUTINE PATROL is available at www.routine patrol.com and is a great read if you are looking for real life NYPD stories.
Marc is available for interviews.
