Goodwill.Jobs Launches Affordable Online Job Board for Employers and Free Job Board for Job Seekers

New Job Board is Created & Operated by Goodwill of Southern Nevada. The full-service job board powered by Goodwill of Southern Nevada offers employers an affordable option for job postings while providing job seekers free access to open positions, the ability to create a searchable resume, as well as access to local hiring events, workshops and resource centers.

“As a nonprofit dedicated to helping people work, our mission is to connect employers with qualified job candidates,” said Steve Chartrand, President and CEO of Goodwill of Southern Nevada. “The high cost of posting open positions online with big job boards can be a major barrier for employers looking to hire.  Goodwill.jobs has all the features of mainstream online job boards and more, for a fraction of the price.”

In addition to traditional online job board features, Goodwill.Jobs also offers unique digital interviewing technology which allows employers to ask job seekers pre-determined questions and then watch candidates answer the questions via either recorded or live video.  This feature offers employers an effective way to screen candidates at their convenience and job seekers the ability to pre-interview without having to travel.

"By extending Goodwill.Jobs nationwide, Goodwill participants and nationwide employers can localize their hiring efforts to a specific area or region,"

Mary Chartrand, Director of People Services

With a 12-month contract, individual employers are able to post up to 1,000 jobs per month for $400 per month – a significant cost savings when compared to other popular job boards.  The cost includes access to all features of Goodwill.jobs, including digital interviewing, resume searching, application tracking, analytics and reporting.  Digital marketing upgrades are available, as well as the ability to link to in-house corporate tracking systems.

Local companies currently utilizing Goodwill.jobs include: Dotty’s, AutoNation, Sears, Cosmopolitan at City Center, Diamond Resorts International and Taco Bell.

In addition to contracting directly with employers, Goodwill of Southern Nevada is currently working with other regional Goodwills and partner employers to extend the job board nationwide by creating customized micro websites. The Goodwill of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada will be the first partner Goodwill to launch jobs and local employers via Goodwill.jobs.

“By extending Goodwill.Jobs nationwide, Goodwill participants and nationwide employers can localize their hiring efforts to a specific area or region,” said Chartrand.  “In addition, the online job board creates an additional revenue stream for each Goodwill that can help directly fund job placement and training programs.”

Although under the umbrella of Goodwill International, Inc., every Goodwill is locally owned and operated so that organization can address the direct job placement and training needs for its community.

In 2014, Goodwill of Southern Nevada helped a record 2,361 people in Southern Nevada get jobs, and provided training, job search and other supportive services to more than 12,800 individuals, at no cost.
