Govt Proposes Green Deal Improvements - Knauf Insulation UK

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has outlined a number of new proposals the government believes will help to get its floundering Green Deal initiative back on track.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has outlined a number of new proposals the government believes will help to get its floundering Green Deal initiative back on track.

Announced today (December 2nd), the new measures include the launch of a new online tool to provide a clearer outline of the process of carrying out a Green Deal assessment, as well as increasing the amount of information offered in the Green Deal Advice report.

Better signposting for the companies offering Green Deal services is also in the pipeline, while speeding up the process of work being carried out - from initial assessment to completion - will be a major aim for DECC officials over the coming months.

However, it remains to be seen whether this latest raft of proposals will have a positive impact on a project that has so far been far from popular with the public and could go on to be viewed as a major flop if engagement and work carried out figures do not pick up in the near future.
