Dubai, November 27th, 2012-.GOWEX (GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Alternext), company leader in the development of WiFi Smartcities® and Wifi Smart Transport®, has announced today the first agreement with the public transport agency of Dubai (RTA-PTA), the most important technological and financial hub in the Middle East, to provide GOWEX's Free WiFi GOWEX in diverse intercity buses.
Endorsed by their experience in the development of Smart WiFi in Transportation around the World, GOWEX has started its first incursion in the United Arab Emirates (EAU) with RTA/PTA, one of the most important public transportation companies in the region and a clear referent in the sector worldwide. For the development of the project, the company has had the assistance of the local partner Transport High Tech Consultants (THTC).

Free WiFi from Dubai to Abu Dhabi
Starting today, Free WiFi will be available onboard in a number of inter-emirates buses, which cumute between the main Emirates in the region: Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Going forward the passengers that use regularly these buses can take advantage of their 2 hour trip to speed up their jobs tasks or check the email on their way to their office, connected to the WiFi network of GOWEX. It could later be incorporated to the 1.364 buses of the RTA/PTA fleet, with around 30 million passengers a week
To connect, the users will have to detect the network GOWEX Free WiFi with their mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, and netbooks) and can start to navigate at a speed of 512 Kbps for free. Additionally, passengers will have a portal with real time information on the transportation services of the city.
Wireless Smart Transport
During the last two years, the company has contributed to the generalization of free WiFi Connection in transportation around the world, with the following outstanding projects: in Europe GOWEX is delivering the Wireless Smart Transport to the urban transport, intercity and touristic buses of Madrid, with approximately 3,200 buses; in suburban transport stations of Paris, with SNCF in train stations in France; in Latin-America, providing services in the Subte (metro) and Metrobus of Buenos Aires; and in Asia with the settled agreement with CRSCS (second engineering TIC of train transportation for China's communication) offering a wireless connection in high speed trains that cover the route Beijing-Shanghai.
