Chapel Hill, N.C. - Grace Church of Chapel Hill North Carolina staff pastor, Jim Reklis, was recently published on the popular evangelical blog, www.theresurgence.com. His article, titled "Re:Train isn't just for young hip dudes," was posted on Thursday, December 2, 2010.
"It really is a privilege and an honor to be chosen by Resurgence and the Acts 29 Church Planters Network to write a blog post," said Reklis, who has been on staff at Grace for more than 20 years.
The Resurgence website is a ministry of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network (www.acts29network.org) and Mars Hill Church in Seattle Wa. (www.marshillchurch.org), which were founded by pastor Mark Driscoll. Mars Hill Church is one of the largest and fastest growing churches in America and the Acts 29 Network is the fastest growing church-planting organization in the United States with more than 300 churches in five continents in just more than 10 years of existence.
Reklis was chosen to publish the article for his participation in the Acts 29 Re:Train master's degree program.
"Most of the participants in Re:Train are young guys in their late twenties or early thirties with young families who are interested in starting churches," said Reklis. "Since I have more than thirty years of ministry experience, have been married for 35 years, and have raised six children I stick out just a bit."
It was this experience, along with Reklis' willingness to try something new by going back to school to get a master's degree, that was attractive to Re:Train and The Resurgence blog. The Resurgence Blog includes regular posts from the giants of the evangelical world including pastors and ministers like John Piper, R.C. Sproul, Andy Stanley, Randy Alcorn, and Daniel Akin.
