Online, July 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Grauer School Center for College Preparation recently announced that the 18-student graduating class of 2010 was offered $2.2 million in academic scholarships from prestigious educational institutions for collegiate studies. These offers equate to an unprecedented $122,222 in unsolicited merit scholarships per student. Top prep schools surveyed average around $84,627, hence, Grauer students are averaging almost 50% more than comparable schools. 100% of all Grauer School graduates are accepted to the colleges or universities of their choice.
Among those colleges the students received acceptance to are: University of California at San Diego, University of California at Irvine, Occidental College, Tulane University, Purdue University, Pepperdine University, Embry Riddle - Prescott (Aeronautical), University of Arizona, Marymount College, Cornish College of the Arts, University of Michigan, Ohio State University, Florida Institute of Technology, University of Colorado, and University of Illinois.
According to Head of School, Dr. Stuart Grauer, "The Grauer School acceptances validate extensive research on the power of small schools (less than 200 students) in college preparation. The difference is not just in their grade scores, but more so in their sense of life purpose and authentic humanitarianism. Our recently completed high school student survey revealed that 100% of our students claim, 'My teachers really care about me,' compared to 45% of students who feel this nationwide. This is dream data. No other independent college prep school offers the level of teacher-student-parent collaboration than we do in a nurturing environment. Collectively, the entire student body during the 2010 academic year logged approximately 4000 hours of community service."
The Grauer School, founded in 1991, is a grades 6-12 private, college preparatory day school.
