Grauer School Cafe Night Launches Second Record Label CD

The Grauer School hosted a performing arts Cafe Night, "A Night of Originals", featuring student performances on February 21, 2013, in the Great Hall on the campus located in Encinitas, CA. Under the guidance of Theatrical Director, Erin Langen, Muscial Director, Isaac Langen and Art Director, Christy Goodson, The Grauer School students engaged the audience in a variety of artistic presentations and dramatical skits. Proceeds from the event benefit The Grauer School's after-school arts programs. The event commemorated the premiere of the Grauer School Record's second label, "Alphabet Soup", a CD entirely written, performed and produced by The Grauer School's students.

According to Dr. Stuart Grauer, Head of School, "Entrepreneurial and artistic expression is vanishing from many school's within our district and therefore our faculty is dedicated to perpetuating creative avenues for our students to pursue that will ensure that all creative art-forms be kept alive, now more than ever. This event highlights a variety of accomplishments our students have mastered---everything from stage drama to musical performances demonstrated at this event remind us that the creative arts are a crucial component to a well-rounded educational experience. Many of our students progress to higher education with performing arts scholarships, a testament to the significance of this genre as a component to a well-rounded education."

Students who participated in the Cafe Night performance (both on-stage and audio/visual techniques) as well as student-originated theatrical/musical compositions include: Nicole Goldsmid; Nathan Lampl; Dylan Larson; Nick Higgins; Keanan Gottlieb; Stewart Wirick; Forest Gitlin; Jonah Levine; Lily Shi; Alex Espinosa; Skyler Pia; Jada Henry; Hanna Mast; Thor Sigurdsson; Carlos Mejia; Braidy Gruzd; John Kray; Andrew Perrault; William Braymen; Kelsey Ellison; Devon Rawlings and Casper Messmann.

The Grauer School is an independent, non-profit middle and high school (grades 6-12) accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a member of the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and is the only school in the region to be honored as a designated UNESCO school.
