Online, October 31, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Encinitas, CA----The Grauer School will host the film screening of "Carbon Nation", a solutions-based film that demonstrates how confronting climate change boosts the economy, increases national and energy security and promotes a healthy and clean environment on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 6:30 pm at the school located at 1500 South El Camino Real in Encinitas. The documentary was produced by Craig Sieben, recognized energy authority, and directed by Peter Byck an award-winning director and editor, who will be in attendance to answer questions after the 80-minute film narrated by Bill Kurtis.
Carbon Nation introduces a cast of characters from over 200 people who were interviewed that include entrepreneurs, visionaries, scientists, businessmen and the everyday consumer, all making an impact and working towards solving the climate change crisis. Noteworthy individuals include Richard Branson (CEO Virgin Group), Former CIA Director James Woolsey and Denis Hayes (Founder of Earth Day). Byck explains, "We wanted to make a film that was forward-looking, find out who was doing good things and, even if they were people who hadn't done good things in the past, we wanted to celebrate what they were doing right to help motivate (others). We selected the Grauer School as a base for the screening before we release to the general public in January of 2011, primarily for the work they conduct through their Center for Sustainability. Grauer's balance of stewardship of the earth and rigorous scholarship is a proven model for the entire nation."
A $10 donation will be accepted at the door or in advance at http://rtngrauerschool.eventbrite.com. The Grauer School is a charitable institution led by a volunteer board; its students commit several thousand hours to humanitarian and ecological service annually, locally and globally.
