Online, June 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris, if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax... he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
"I'm intrigued by the storyline, If anybody deserves a fantastic film it's The Green Lantern. Martin Campbell's a good action director and Ryan should do well in this movie. He always brings a mix of humor with all his films. Of course Mark Strong is in this, he's a villain in everything these days. Can't wait to see. I hope, like with all Comic book movies, they keep the movies ending open for sequeals. Wouldn't be a comic book if it didn't keep going."said Daniel Orr
Though Reynolds has prior experience in the superhero realm from his role as Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, playing Green Lantern involved some major challenges, like getting hurled through the air on a wire at up to 60 feet per second to create the illusion of flight. "The first time you do it, you're seriously considering an adult diaper," Reynolds says. Still, he couldn't resist the chance to play the beloved DC Comics hero, whose power ring can conjure virtually anything he can dream up.
Come out June 17th, 2011 to Hollywood Theaters - Pavilion Stadium 14 and join Daniel Orr Racing.
