GreenSpace Software Poised for Success in Oregon's Marijuana Industry

After helping Rogue Valley Dispensary attain compliance with strict seed-to-sale tracking laws, GreenSpace Software is ready for expansion in Oregon.

A milestone was reached at Rogue Valley Dispensary, LLC on July 13th with what Astri Cooper, Compliance Specialist & Investigator of the Public Health Division of the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Program, called one of the easiest inspections she has ever experienced. For Rogue Valley Dispensary it was a crucial step in attaining compliance with Oregon’s stringent regulations, a problem that other dispensaries have struggled with. For GreenSpace Software it marks their first customer in Oregon, but more importantly their software’s readiness to comply with Oregon’s strict guidelines and their readiness to expand and serve dispensaries across the state.

Rogue Valley Dispensary owners Frank Elizondo and Jonathan Quintero had originally expressed apprehension about the approaching inspection, but those fears were quelled when GreenSpace Software’s customer success director Alex Saks made a site visit a day in advance. The software was easily installed on the cloud with plenty of time left to customize the product inventory, design the packaging labels, set up the bar code scanner, design a custom receipt layout and implement some quick training for the Rogue Valley staff.

"I wish that I had access to this tool sooner. It would have saved me lots of $$$ and potentially it could be a great interface with retail tool."

Brent, Owner of APSU Farms

Cooper commented on the ease of use of GreenSpace Software’s system, specifically its refined user interface which makes it very easy to securely scan and store patients’ OMMP cards (medical marijuana ID cards), as well as prominently displaying the expiration date and card number with the customer profile. Unlike many other software systems, Cooper stated that GreenSpace Software properly generated packaging labels, including the unique batch number that many dispensaries have issues with. As a result, Rogue Valley Dispensary passed their inspection with flying colors on the first attempt. A parting compliment from Cooper on the arrangement of the custom receipts for Rogue Valley was a feather in the hats of both the dispensary owners and GreenSpace Software.

Mark Stair, owner and CEO of GreenSpace Software has been on a mission to bring the best software tools to business owners for over 25 years. More recently his sights fell on improving the poor software systems used for cannabis regulation in Washington state. BioTrack THC software is almost universally despised by those in the cannabis industry, and Stair hopes that GreenSpace Software’s success in Oregon will eventually lead to a new standard in how the marijuana industry utilizes software. “Once cannabis became legal for recreational use it became obvious to us that we needed to get into the industry to help businesses run a more automated and profitable business, as we have done for so long in the service industry” Mr. Stair said. “The industry is just getting started and we can help everyone setup and establish a business system that can meet current needs as well as provide adaptability for future regulation and industry changes”.
