GreyHeller Announces TCU Goes Live with PeopleMobile™ for Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
PeopleMobile™ eases enrolling process and gives mobile access to grades and financial information
Online, May 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - GreyHeller, LLC - The ERP Mobility Company - today announced that Texas Christian University has gone into live production with GreyHeller's PeopleMobile™ mobile app for Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. The patent pending app for iPhones, iPads, Android, Blackberry and Windows smartphones and tablets makes enrolling on the go efficient and easy so that students are not tied to a computer workstation to register for classes.
According to Bryan Lucas, TCU's Chief Technology Officer, "Our students told us they want mobile access to PeopleSoft, especially for class enrollment, checking grades and financial status. We selected PeopleMobile™ from GreyHeller because it basically turns PeopleSoft into a mobile app development platform. This means that our PeopleSoft technical team is now a mobile app development team."
PeopleMobile™ automatically optimizes any PeopleSoft workstation screen for smartphones and tablet computers. PeopleMobile™ disrupts mobile application development by eliminating the need to develop individual mobile apps for every PeopleSoft screen and every mobile device. PeopleMobile™ leverages GreyHeller's proprietary security algorithms to prevent intentional or unintentional security breaches. Unlike competitive products, PeopleMobile™ does not require additional hardware or software and therefore minimizes complexity and total cost of ownership.
Hendrix Bodden, GreyHeller's CEO, said "TCU is an acknowledged technology innovator in the Oracle PeopleSoft higher education space. We are pleased to partner with TCU to deliver mobile access to their PeopleSoft systems. We believe that TCU's selection and implementation of PeopleMobile™ confirms GreyHeller as The ERP Mobility Company."
TCU's Technology Resources and Registrar's Offices worked together with GreyHeller, LLC to create a mobile version of TCU's web portal. The look of the app is similar to the desktop version, but modified to work with smart phones and tablets with bigger buttons, screens sized to give only necessary information and tables that can slide and swipe. PeopleMobile's analytic and logging capabilities gives TCU detailed information about how students interact with the app. This information will in turn help TCU's developers further refine the app and develop new functionality requested by students.
tcu360, an official, student-produced product of the Schieffer School of Journalism at TCU, published an article about the project.
