Group Raises Awareness of Common Debilitating Problem with "Hemorrhoid Awareness Week" from June 14-20
Launching their campaign with a slogan of "Together, we can stop the itching," the Hemorrhoid Awareness Campaign is calling from a "Hemorrhoid Awareness Week" from June 14-20 to raise awareness of this common but debilitating problem.
Online, May 30, 2010 (Newswire.com) - BURLINGTON, VT -- Up to half of adults have them. Most people will experience them at least once in their lives. Two-thirds of pregnant women face them. But we can't talk about them. Until now, that is, when the Hemorrhoid Awareness Campaign has launched a "Hemorrhoid Awareness Week" drive to raise awareness of this debilitating problem.
Hemorrhoids are semi-permanent inflammations in the lining of the anus that cause pain, intense itching, bleeding and uneven lateral shapes to feces. In addition, they may prevent the anus from constricting fully, and torment those who have them. So far, the best that medical science can do is smear them with analgesic, or clumsily slice, burn or freeze off the external parts of each hemorrhoid.
The Hemorrhoid Awareness Campaign seeks to educate people worldwide of the perils and pains of hemorrhoids, and to push hard for recognition of "Hemorrhoid Awareness Week," a proposed commemorative week from June 14-20 when people will think of the hemorrhoid sufferers around them, and increase donations to finding a cure.
Launching their campaign with a slogan of "Together, we can stop the itching," the Hemorrhoid Awareness Campaign is gearing up its new drive with membership recruitment, a new website, and public events across the globe where hemorrhoid sufferers come "out of the closet" and talk about the trauma and irritation of this minor medical problem that can be a big-time debacle.
The website includes the Brown Awareness Ribbon(tm) for internet users to place on blogs, web sites and profiles in order to show others that they support an end to the plague of hemorrhoids.
