Gurney's Seed & Nursery Launches YouTube Channel, Corporate Blog

Gurney's YouTube Channel and Blog Feature Product Information, Planting Guides, and Gardening Tips

As a part of a series of new e-media initiatives, Gurney's Seed & Nursery Company has recently launched its own YouTube channel, which will give viewers the opportunity to see a wide range of gardening-related videos in one central location. Additionally, the 143 year-old seed company has launched its own corporate blog, which is written by one of its head horticultural experts.
The Gurney's YouTube channel can be accessed at www.YouTube.com/gurneysseed and will serve as the home for a variety of videos on many different gardening topics, including detailed plant information, gardening tips, planting guides, how-to videos, and expert gardening advice. In addition, future video content will focus on breakthrough horticultural developments and new gardening techniques. The horticultural experts at Gurney's have been filming a number of informational videos to premiere for the launch.

In an effort to expand its online communications presence, Gurney's Seed & Nursery also has a Facebook campaign, where fans can see exclusive content, and a Twitter account, where followers get access to preferential special offers and gardening information. With over 1000 followers on Twitter, Gurney's is already making a significant impact in the social media world.

Scott Atkinson, Director of Creative Services at Gurney's, says these new e-media plans will be extremely beneficial. "We're excited about the new initiatives, because they allow us to go beyond normal methods of communication and into a world of direct feedback - a true dialogue with our customers. We now have the ability to branch out and offer more of our expertise than can be included in a catalogue."

Atkinson says the new e-media operation is a way to provide customers with gardening tips and ideas immediately. He continues, "As our customers do more of their shopping and searching for gardening information online, we're able to provide that through our website, blog and YouTube channel. We're interested in any method we can use to bring Gurney's right to our customers gardens."
Gurney's Seed & Nursery already has a considerable web presence, and hopes to expand its online presence even further with its YouTube channel, corporate blog, Facebook and Twitter campaigns.
