On March 25, 2011, individuals and companies from across the world will gather at the University of California - Merced for the inaugural International Green Industry Hall of Fame (IGIHOF) induction ceremony and Green Conference. The IGIHOF mission is to recognize individuals and organizations for excellence in ecological sustainability and provide an educational forum for the public. The scope of the organization is International and not limited by borders or boundaries.

The University of California - Merced located in Merced, CA is the ideal venue because of their commitment to sustainability and LEED certification initiatives.

Attendees will have the choice of attending in person or virtually. To further promote environmental sustainability by eliminating the cost of travel (gas, hotel, meals etc), the conference and ceremony will be held "virtually".

IGIHOF board member, Eric Rawn states "We wanted to come up with a unique way to host the event leveraging technology while reducing our carbon footprint; going virtual allows us to recognize organizations internationally more efficiently while not sacrificing our overall effectiveness".

Nominations will be accepted until October 30, 2010. Event sponsorships and booth space are available by calling 559-217-5219. To learn more about IGIHOF, please visit www.gogreenhall.org.

For more information on the event, please call Lance Matthews at 559-260-9262.
