Happy Ol' McWeasel Release 'No Offence'

Slovenian celtic punk heroes gearing up for debut release 'No Offence'

Channelling the Celtic soul that proudly follows in the traditions of the Dropkick Muphys, Flogging Molly and The Real McKenzies, Slovenian folk punk heroes Happy Ol' McWeasel's vibrant, whiskey soaked melodies are already revered around Southeastern Europe, having established the band as one of Slovenia's biggest acts and their debut album 'No Offence' as one of the most anticipated released of 2012.

Recorded by SAE award winner Martin Bezjak of Epix Productions and mastered by the legendary Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, 'No Offence' taps this old world country vibe deploying the usual instrumental suspects and adding accordion, fiddle, and banjo to make for an authentic Celtic sound and most importantly, fun-loving tunes.

Their beer-fuelled, high-energy live performances could compel even the most morose of men to dance and have gained them spots playing with punk icons the Misfits, on Slovenian national television, headlining Lent Festival (the largest in Slovenia) and playing a New Years Eve concert in Maribor to 20.000 people. Blaze Bailey (ex-Iron Maiden vocalist) even joined them on stage for a song at their album release party.

Having also garnered a significant international following on YouTube for their videos 'Hair Grizzly' and 'Irish Rover', Happy Ol' McWeasel are clearly ready to bring their ruckus to the rest of the world and 'No Offence' is the album that's going to unleash it.

Review from http://outspoken.de:

My first impression: wow, amazing album.
I really dig bands like Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy's and The Real McKenzies. The music makes me want to go to the local pub, pour down a few beers and just have a nice day with friends, listening to music.
So here we are, a slovenian Folk Punk Rock band which is presenting their first full length album after releasing two singles so far.
The album just makes me smile every time i listen to it. If offers the whole bandwith from fast catchy tracks combined with hard guitar riffs to almost daceable music which makes you sing along and feel like a drunken sailor. Decent rock, period.

Well produced, funny and interesting coverart combied with the really nice digipak really makes this a nice cd in total.
Happy Ol' McWeasel may not sound unique, especially not compared to bands like Flogging Molly, but the album simply is amazing due all the happiness and strength which burts out of it.
The combination of irish folk and punk rock is a great mixture which teams up to a glorious listening adventure in total.
Songs like "Irish Rover", "Drunken Sailor" or "Dany Boy" are presenting the traditional musical site the band favours; other songs are just plain modern folk punk rock. The speed varies, but it's always carried by a certain rhythm and melody. The album just sounds like everything matches perfectly together and i really enjoy listening to it.

In my opinion Happy Ol' McWeasel are equal to the more known bands i already mentioned. I can only highly recommend everybody to buy this awesome album and maybe also pick up some merchandise from those nice guys!
