Happy Science USA -- New Movement Aims to Foster Peace and Progress Globally
Established in 1986 as a spiritual movement with 12 million followers in 75 countries, Happy Science recently arrived on U.S. shores.
Online, June 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Happy Science's "Fourfold Path to Enlightenment,"-Love, Wisdom, Self Reflection and Progress-has come to the United States, and are already finding a warm welcome for their free, open to the public program called "Midweek Meditation in Midtown Manhattan." This program of guided meditations, fellowship, discussions, and more is already being replicated in other cities where Happy Science has opened centers, including Atlanta, Tampa, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
Based on the Buddhist principles of Enlightenment, Happy Science's new model is designed for the unique challenges in our modern world, with the goal of helping to achieve greater world peace, one happier and more fulfilled person at a time.
Happy Science seeks to unite people from all spiritual and religious backgrounds. In hundreds of Temples-including their newest ones in New York, Tampa and Atlanta, people come together to benefit from fellowship, guided meditations, and discussion on the origins of life and the universe. Established in 1986 as a spiritual movement with 12 million followers in 75 countries, Happy Science only recently arrived on U.S. shores. Master Ryuho Okawa, an inspirational spiritual leader who often fills 50,000 seat auditoriums and has published countless best-selling books, founded the organization.
"Our intention is to help end wars, conflict and suffering, and replace them with greater joy, peace and prosperity," says Happy Science U.S.A.'s Chief Ambassador and Head Minister Yuki Oikawa. "It may sound idealistic and simplistic; nonetheless, the fact is, never before in the course of history has there been such an opportunity to spread our important message, living as we do in this great information age. The message of course, is how we need to, and can, turn hate to love." Yuki is charged with reaching U.S. audiences with this timeless but urgent message.
Thousands of people in the U.S. have already experienced Happy Science's roadmap to achieving happiness, peace of mind and prosperity, and are enthusiastically sharing it with others. Book sales are increasing for The Laws of the Sun, The Golden Laws, The Essence of Buddha, The Laws of Eternity, The Laws of Happiness, and Master Okawa's latest book, The Next Great Awakening: A Spiritual Renaissance (March, 2011, New Atlantis Books, a division of IRH Press).
Yuki Oikawa's schedule has heated up as he travels from his home in New York City to other cities and towns to hold guided meditations, speak to groups, and offer Happy Science to growing numbers of people, many of whom are seeking answers to serious life challenges, such as drug or alcoholic addiction, financial difficulties, divorce, or a serious illness. "Today, people hunger for ways to grow spiritually and live healthier, happier, more richly rewarding lives," says Yuki.
One follower, Noke Nikhomvan, 38, a Healthcare IT consultant in Atlanta, says that guided meditations led by Yuki Oikawa "help us cope with the inherent stress in our lives, provide us with greater clarity on what is happening in the world at large, and allow us to open our minds and hearts to others. The teachings, meditations, and the community connection help us reach solutions in our own lives that could benefit everyone."
