Hastings & Hastings Speaks on the Current Phoenix Housing and Construction Boom

In 2008, The Case-Shiller home price index reported the largest price drop in the history of its existence. This heralded in the economic recession of 2010. Hastings & Hastings remembers the economic hard times, and lauds the residents of the great city of Phoenix for enduring. Recently it was announced that the Phoenix housing market is up approximately 78 percent from this time last year.

It seems as if things have started to turn around. Hastings & Hastings could not be happier to see this most recent Phoenix housing boom.

According to current projection, 17,000 new homes are expected to be built in Phoenix during 2015. Homes values are rising and demand had been growing. Hastings & Hastings is excited to see such incredible growth in Phoenix. Not only are current Phoenix residents moving and building new homes, but more and more people are coming to Arizona every month. Last year, Arizona’s population grew 1.5 percent, and that growth is expected to improve in 2015.

"We love seeing so much construction going on in Phoenix. It is just another sign that our great town is thriving. We just want everyone to stay safe out there at the same time"

David Hastings, Founder

Hastings & Hastings acknowledges that as construction booms, the job market improves as well. Construction sites are popping up all across the Valley of the Sun. Not only are homebuyers thriving, but business is thriving as well. This upward trajectory is exciting, and shows that great things are in store for the people of Phoenix.

As construction booms, traffic increases as well. Construction zones are going to start to appear all around the city. Hastings & Hastings advises that drivers proceed with extreme caution when driving in construction zones. Traffic lanes will be congested, and unanticipated obstacles may be present. Additionally, penalties for traffic citations could double in constructions zones. This means that what would have been a $200 ticket, will suddenly become a $400 ticket. Exhibiting caution in construction zones will protect you, your car, and your pocket book.

Phoenix drivers should also keep the Move Over Law in mind. If they see construction vehicles pulled off to the side of the road, they should do everything they can to give them proper space. If it possible to merge left into an open lane of traffic, this is ideal.

“We love seeing so much construction going on in Phoenix. It is just another sign that our great town is thriving. We just want everyone to stay safe out there at the same time” said David Hastings, the founder of Hastings & Hastings.
