Online, September 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Lake Mary, FL - NeoMetrix is now offering mobile inspection services using portable CMM technology developed by Creaform. This technology complements NeoMetrix' existing services, such as 3D scanning, reverse engineering and rapid prototyping.

The HandyProbe is a hand-held probing tool that is used in conjunction with the C-Track optical tracking system. Using principles of photogrammetry, the C-Track constantly monitors the position and orientation of the hand-held probe as well as targets placed on the part, enabling the measurement of parts up to 3 meters in length from a single position. The positioning of reference targets on the part also enables the C-Track to be repositioned multiple times throughout the measurement session with no degradation in accuracy.

Measurements from the probe can be dimensioned directly, or overlaid directly on the customer CAD file to show real time deviations from design. Applying this concept to tooling and fixtures in a manufacturing environment means tooling adjustments can be made with minimal downtime on the assembly line.
