They've acknowledged that the summer has been wet and miserable so far. But they recognise that some of the happiest memories as kids were playing on a beach in the rain. So they are determined, as we head to autumn, to bring some craic back to the summer.

They're encouraging people to take a trip down memory lane, rain or shine. They invite you to go to their themed day trips that launch in August. They will be in many locations, enjoying different activities that you should remember from childhood. The events run through August. In September they'll finish off the series and celebrate Back to School with an old fashioned School Disco.

The first event had to be a trip to Dublin Zoo because of its heritage as one of the world's longest running zoos. It had over a million visitors last year. The Have the Craic trip is taking place on Saturday the 6th of August. The group will meet at the Dublin Zoo entrance at 12pm. The event will be the first in a series of day trips. There will be nostalgia, packed lunches, fun, and most importantly new friends made during this series of events. Their trusted mascot Larry the Leprechaun will be on hand to monkey around with the group on the day! But not too much because they will be listening carefully to the talks that regularly take place in the Zoo. They'll be tested on what they learn over a packed lunch picnic for some fun prizes, just like back in the day.

Managing Director, Elaine Walsh, enthusiastically said "Let's face it Irish people love talking about the past, the good old days, so we thought we'd go back to innocent fun and soggy sandwiches. We guarantee that we'll have nicer sandwiches this time round. We'll make sure that the Retro day trips are different and fun for our customers".

www.havethecraic.com launched in June 2009 with a small but quickly growing number of supporters and now has over 1000 members. The Dublin based social club organises events such as a book club, movie night, comedy nights, canoeing, walks and much more. The team at Have the Craic are always coming up with new and exciting events where you can meet new people and have fun.
