Have We Already Met Our One True Love?

Online, March 19, 2012 (Newswire.com) - How do we know who is our one true love?

It's a question that consumes the minds of many young people, and Alex Rosenfeld hopes his experiences will help others find - and keep - love. The 19-year-old's debut novel, "REmembering BECCA," shares the innermost hopes, fears, dreams and desires of a young protagonist seeking the love he lost. But has he really met her yet?

Rosenfeld weaves his story in much the same way our mind works, with perspectives that swing back and forth among the future, present and past as well as the real and imagined. Along the journey, the protagonist and the author learn more about themselves than either ever imagined possible.

"REmembering BECCA" was awarded runner-up status at the Los Angeles Book Festival for 2011-2012.

Rosenfeld says he has been influenced by a number of modern writers, and notably, the time disparity in his novel was inspired by the work of another Jewish writer, Audrey Niffenegger, who wrote "The Time Traveler's Wife." Written as a diary, the entries nevertheless do not come in a linear fashion.

"The point is to look at love, in a way, as a memory," he says. "You remember love not so much like it happens you, but in bits and pieces that aren't in chronological order. That's the point of the time disparity. It's a love story, but it's not a linear love story."
