Haven Boosts Ipswich Job Market With Finalised Office Expansion

Ipswich-based business electricity supplier Haven Power is set to continue its expansion with the opening of its new office extension

Ipswich-based business electricity supplier Haven Power is set to continue its expansion with the opening of its new office extension.

The 10,000 sq ft extension on Ransomes Europark doubles the company's office space and has been completed on-time and within budget by Ipswich-based main contractors, SEH French and Jackson Civil Engineering working with Woodbridge-based joint developers Maro Developments and The Land Group. EWS Chartered Surveyors handled the lease negotiations on Haven's behalf whilst the Ipswich commercial team of international real estate advisor Savills acted for the joint developers.

The expansion will allow Haven to maintain its growth plans that have already seen it reach a turnover of over £125million in just five years. In anticipation of the completion of the extension Haven has already recruited over 100 new staff and now employs more than 300 people in the area, and the company is always looking to recruit good people as it expands.

In line with Haven's commitment to be environmentally responsible, the purpose-built office building features a number of energy-efficient systems which include a state-of-the-art air conditioning system that uses heat pumps to heat or cool the building naturally from the ambient air along with modern lighting controls. The new building achieved a "very good" environmental rating.

Chief Executive, Peter Bennell, comments: "The additional office space means we can provide our staff with a good working environment. As we grow it becomes even more important to ensure we maintain our excellent customer service levels, with good facilities, investment in technology and most importantly, people. In fact, our recruitment drive has meant that we have arranged an open morning in November for anyone interested in working with us."

"We're proud to be an Ipswich-based company with a national presence, and our location has helped us establish Haven Power as a force in the business electricity supply sector."

Nigel Robson, director of joint developer Land Group, comments, "Having constructed the original building for Haven Power in 2008 it is very pleasing that we have also been able to address their current expansion requirements. One of the benefits of being located on Ransomes Europark is the flexibility it offers and we look forward to being able to offer further assistance as Haven Power continue to grow."

Since its inception in 2006, Haven has gone from strength to strength, focusing on supplying the electricity needs of businesses - both small and large - and never compromising on service. Its purchase by Drax Power in 2009 has increased the company's capabilities, and it now sells electricity to some major household names including Black & Decker, Adecco and Screwfix.

As part of Drax, (the UK's largest single producer of renewable energy) which produces around eight percent of the UK's electricity needs, Haven Power can offer customers significant industry expertise and supply benefits, while still providing an individually tailored customer service.
