Having Trouble With Student Loan Repayment Paperwork? Ameritech Financial Provides Assistance
ROHNERT PARK, Calif., February 17, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Many people dread filling out paperwork. For some, it’s just a general dislike of forms or a fear of making a mistake. For others, the aversion is much more acute. No matter the situation, individuals who procrastinate because of an aversion to paperwork may lose out because of it, including when it comes to student loans and repayment. But student loan paperwork doesn’t have to be so intimidating. Ameritech Financial is a private document preparation company that assists federal student loan borrowers in applying for income-driven repayment plans (IDRs). The company helps borrowers select an appropriate repayment plan and then prepares all the application paperwork on behalf of its clients for the clients’ review and approval prior to submission.
“We provide a stellar service to help borrowers apply for and stay in the right repayment plan,” said Tom Knickerbocker, Executive Vice President of Ameritech Financial. “We understand every borrower has a different story. For people who are having trouble with paperwork, for whatever reason, we aim to help make life easier for them.”

IDRs, which are offered by the Department of Education, calculate a borrower’s monthly payment based on income and family size. Borrowers who utilize these plans could potentially see their monthly payments lower substantially; for some, the payment may be as low as zero dollars per month. And getting borrowers into income-driven repayment plans also means getting them on track to forgiveness. After a period of 20 to 25 years of repayment in an IDR, any remaining balance of the loan is forgiven.
Ameritech Financial also prepares the yearly recertification paperwork required to remain in an IDR. The company will stay in touch with borrowers to make sure deadlines are met regarding annual recertification, which can be a comforting level of service that supports clients beyond the initial IDR application.
While Ameritech Financial works on borrowers’ behalf, clients of the company always retain control of their student loan accounts and are always responsible for making payments to their servicer. Clients can ask for clarification about the documents being prepared for them.
“These repayment plans can be life-changing to student loan borrowers,” said Knickerbocker. “But for many different reasons, the forms and documents required to get into them may act as a barrier instead of the path to enrollment. That’s including the borrowers that need it the most. But Ameritech Financial assists borrowers so they can apply for the payment plan they need.”
