Hawaiian Summer Camp Visits Punalu'u
Online, May 10, 2010 (Newswire.com) - "Aloha from Hawaiian Summer Camp!" the idea of a traditional summer camp for kids and teens usually makes you think of sleeping in bunk beds in a log cabin with 15 other campers, or kayaking on the nearby lake, and especially participating in competitive team sports. Hawaiian Summer Camp can offer so much more for kids; teaching them about the environment and learning safety at the same time.
Located on the big island of Hawaii, campers will have the opportunity to explore different parts of the island while creating memories that will leave a lasting impression. Swimming with giant green sea turtles, snorkeling with Hawaiian spinner dolphins and tropical coral reefs, hiking in Volcano National Park, and kayaking along coastlines are just a few of the stimulating activities offered at Hawaiian Summer Camp.
The experienced staff and trained guides are all CPR and first aid certified, and dedicated to teaching campers about the importance of safety and the meaning of preserving the environment. Children will also learn how to interact with everyone around them and build lasting friendships. Staff members are well aware of the need to develop necessary social skills, and learn the importance of social dynamics while providing an interactive and hands on learning environment.
Hawaiian Summer Camp offers a variety of programs all incorporating hands on experience and appreciation of their surroundings. Some of the activities include camping in Punaluu, visiting South Point (the farthest southern point in the United States) visiting Volcano National Park, traveling to Kapohoo, the largest tide pools in Hawaii and much more. Campers will visit many places that tourists do not visit while in Hawaii. Hawaiian Summer Camp gives campers the opportunity to see many of Hawaii's unknown attractions.
One of the many places that campers will visit is Punalu'u County Park, Hawaii's most famous black sand beach. Campers will get the opportunity to swim with green sea turtles, which are an endangered species and snorkel among the giant coral reefs that are home to many unique species of fish. Campers will spend the night in Punalu'u Country Park and experience what camping is like on the big island of Hawaii. Surrounded by tall palm trees, and protected by the small cove, Punalu'u is a wonderful place for campers to visit and learn about the local marine life and the importance of protecting an endangered species.
