Hearshot Inc. announced today the closing of their oversubscribed seed round, raising $550,000 for the final leg for product development and launch later this year.  The round comes from a consortium of international tech investors from Canada, US & Singapore and complements the funding already received through the BDC Futurpreneur Award won earlier in 2015.

Incorporated in 2015, Hearshot is a hardware company at the intersection of wearable technologies & action sports. Their inaugural product, the Hearshot communicator, aims to fully disrupt the off-grid communication market.

“When it comes to communication – all development of the recent years has been centered around the mobile phone, but the areas where you cannot use your phone have been neglected, serviced only by 80 year old walkie-talkie solutions – we aim to change that, allowing for easy, efficient communication anywhere & everywhere” says co-founder & Co-CEO Bart Lipski.

Founded by ex-Google and dotcom entrepreneur Bart Lipski and former management consultant and engineer Sebastian Koper, Hearshot now boasts a team of 3 engineers and a seasoned board of advisors, including one of Silicon Valley’s most prominent tech execs, ex SVP, Engineering at Twitter, Chris Fry.

“We’re excited to close the round and have the funds necessary to finalize the product we’ve been building for the last 18 months - we aim for full scale launch this August” says co-founder & Co-CEO Sebastian Koper.
